Our Eco Responsibility!

Among all beverages consumed, bottled water is the single largest growth area inclusive of alcohol, juices and soft drinks. Per capita consumption has more than doubled over the last decade, from 10.5 gallons in 1993 to 22.6 in 2003, according to the Beverage Marketing Corporation. The growth has been even more staggering in terms of water bottles sold: In 1997, from 3.3 billion to 15 billion in 2002. As it turns out, most bottled water is consumed away from home, usually at a park, in an office or even while driving — areas where there's usually no recycling and the opportunity for recycling is at a low point.

One of the positive characteristics of plastic is the fact that it is moldable, durable and tough. Unfortunately, this is not a positive characteristic when it comes to our environment and the fact that plastic is durable and tough means it degrades slowly if at all. Additionally, burning plastic result in toxic fumes which then adds to the overall problem

And aside from trying to get rid of plastic or even recycling it, creating it can be costly to the environment. It takes a massive amount of chemical pollutants, fossil fuels and energy to create plastic. Overall, there was a day when using plastic made sense for our beverages; however, as the overall perception of bottled water has changed, so must we change in our consumption and use of these plastic containers.

Environmental Impact

Most of us do not really consider the environmental impact that we have on just purchasing bottles and plastics.. Watch the following video to get an idea of what impact plastics are having on our environment.

Fortunately, there are some things we can do to curve the assault on our environment. Water ionizers have a low impact on our environment because there is no need to continually purchase bottled water. It is a one-stop solution that will have years of benefits not only for our environment but to our health and bottom line in terms of money saved.

Save Money with Green Technology

Purchasing a water ionizer can save you thousands in the long term

Over the course of several years, drinking water from a water ionizer can potentially save you thousands of dollars instead of purchasing expensive designer water that in many cases is just filtered tap water. And if you were to use the strong acid and strong alkaline waters as a cleaner and disinfectant, that savings would be even more pronounced.

In the below chart, a real case scenario is laid out between a typical water ionizer and six of the most common bottle water products on the market today. In this scenario, it is assumed that a typical family will drink and or use an average of 2 gallons of water per day for 15 years.

The typical water ionizer will realistically cost between $2,000 to $4,000 for the initial purchase of the machine and in our scenario we will figure a consumption of 10 gallons per day. At an average cost of just $2 per 1,000 gallons of most local governmental water agencies, the yearly cost of consumed water from one of these ionizers will be right under $8.

Ideally, the filter will need to be changed once to twice yearly. We will figure that the filter will be replaced twice yearly at a cost of $200. The extra $38 will go towards miscellaneous cleaning.

As can be seen from the chart, in the long run, water ionizers make complete sense and will save you money and natural resources.
